Job Description:
A construction engineer is responsible for the entire construction project i.e. planning, directing, handling the design and being present during the time of construction. It is his responsibility to ensure that the project is implemented effectively. A construction engineer may design the plans for roads, bridges, pipelines, buildings, sewage system and more. The functions of a construction engineer include performing surveys and tests of the ground and water level of the project, preparing and implementing project safety plan as well as preparing diagrams and charts in a visually pleasing manner. This position requires coordinating with contractors, supervisory personnel and design professionals to avoid and resolve problems related to construction. A construction engineer should be well conversant with all aspects of framework installation, concrete production and placing and curing and protection. He has to analyze engineering design methods viz. Structural, Steel, Timber, Aluminum or Concrete materials by using Limit States and Allowable Stress methods.
Job Responsibilities
Follow up and implement the established and documented project control processes. Coordinate on a daily basis with the Project Controls.
To assist in preparing the progress reports for the project as required or any other project reports that will be requested.
To assist in maintaining the data information to ensure project target dates are met.
To assist in the coordination and cooperation with Finance.
Required Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required for this position with knowledge of computers and proficiency in CAD as well as good analytical, communicational and planning skills
